Seaweed Workshops and Courses

The Irish Seaweed Centre, MRI, NUI Galway  has hosted several courses and workshops in the past and has presented Seaweeds and the Industry at many shows through stands and presentations. If you're interested to host a course like this for your organisation, be it commercial or educational, please contact us. We present a range of subjects from Industry, resources and harvesting techniques to aquaculture and products and applications.

BIM course

The Irish Seaweed Centre was invited by Dr Susan Steele, BIM Castletownbere, Co. Cork to present a 2 day course (including visit to the ISC experimental Seaweed Farm in Roaring Water Bay) as part of a week-long BIM seaweed module in December 2004. For course contents and program click here!
Due to its success a second course is planned for June 2005.

NORDIC SEAWEED PROJECT

The Irish Seaweed Centre also hosted a seaweed workshop on invitation by Ole hertz (program coordinator)for the NORDIC SEAWEED PROJECT TANG WORKSHOP 24 - 26 February 2005 on Bornholm, Denmark. A co-operational seaweed project between Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark and the Faeroe Islands.For this workshop we presented and discussed the Irish experience.
